Fairtrade and Eco-Responsible
Made in Utopia: Cooperative, sustainable and fair
From the very beginning, we have defined ourselves not only as a manufacturer of products that provide well-being, but also as an advocate of socially responsible production conditions and fair trade at all levels. Together with the fair trade movement, we share the vision of greater justice, transparency and sustainability in international trade (World Fair Trade Organization, 2009). As a recognized partner of Austrian, South Tyrolean and German world boutiques, we guarantee a number of criteria at every stage of the production process, including suitable working conditions and fair practices as well as environmental protection. . Honestly and consciously, we are moving full steam ahead towards our utopia – for our employees, our suppliers and our planet.
High social standards
For us, fairness starts with our people, because they are the beating heart of our organization. It is only together with them that we can make more people dream while helping to improve the world a little. They are our family and Bali, where it all began, our beloved home. As a result, Charly, the founder of Ticket to the Moon, has always seen himself from the start as part of a bigger picture and always meets his employees at their level - this also includes, as is the local culture, sit together on the floor to discuss current issues. We therefore take it as a matter of course to involve our employees in decision-making processes. In addition to flat hierarchies, it is above all the familiar and personal interaction between us all that our employees appreciate. This also includes Putu Agus or Made Sandi, who has worked in our production in Bali since 2000 and is now responsible for production.
We want to create the right conditions for a good working atmosphere, starting with fair remuneration well above the regional average, direct profit sharing, social security and pensions, as well as free leisure activities. In particular, joint outings aim to strengthen the feeling of belonging and are considered something very special. This strong cohesion characterizes the atmosphere at Ticket to the Moon, which we wish to transmit to our customers (the "tribe") around the world. Our employees are just as important to us as our Indonesian roots, which is why we also want to give something back. Therefore, a significant portion is intended for them and our self-established foundation, with which a number of projects in the fields of ecotourism, medicine and education have been realized so far. , and many jobs have been created.
Fair trade practices
In our work and decisions, we are constantly guided by the principles of sociocracy 3.0, according to which we also choose our business partners. A fair, preferably regional and sustainable approach as well as high product quality are the basic requirements for a partnership. We attach particular importance to long-term relationships characterized by sincere friendship. Therefore, we not only maintain a regular exchange of information, but also regularly visit external partner companies in person. This is the only way to say in all conscience: we only sell what we live and love.
Ecological and sustainable production

Ticket to the Moon is the first completely PFC-free hammock manufacturer , and our parachute nylon is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified . Additionally, we have been official members of the WFTO since 2023. Regarding environmental protection, both in Europe and in Bali, the principle of "reduce, reuse, recycle" has been applied since the beginning. Our products are characterized by very high quality, which is why we also offer a 10-year manufacturer's warranty against production and material defects. On the one hand, we want to promote thinking against the throwaway society, and on the other hand, we want our customers to benefit from our products for a lifetime. In addition to our resource-friendly way of working, we particularly invest in upcycling processes. For example, excess materials from our hammocks are either transformed into eco-friendly products such as eco bags, or recycled into new fabrics. Anything that cannot be sensibly reprocessed by us is reintroduced into value chains by Balinese recycling pioneer, Eco-Bali. In this way, we continue our ecological mission for a clean and healthy planet, and remain true to our motto "nothing goes to waste".
